Nine Volleyball Players Named to Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll
June 13, 2008
LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech volleyball continued its success in the classroom as nine players were named to the 2008 Spring Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll recently. To qualify, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 grade point average or better for the selected semester. Players being named to the team included graduating seniors Emily Ziegler, Alicia Ostmeyer and Amy Gandy. Joining those three on the list were freshmen Becca Baldwin and Caroline Courtney, Kourtney Dunnam, Michelle Flores, Jenn Harrell and midyear transfer Caroline Witte. Acknowledging all student-athletes, the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll is an inclusive honor for varsity sports sponsored by the membership of the league. The Honor Roll is recorded and released each semester and recognizes those student-athletes who recorded a 3.00 or better GPA the previous semester. The Red Raiders are set to kick off the 2008 season Aug. 29 at the North Texas Tournament in Denton.
